"I'll show you," grumbled Julia. "I'll sit there on me arse, not say a
word at all. How's that?"
"Got a case of the mutes then?" snickered TJ.
Julia made a face, sticking out her tongue.
"Put that away," said Eric, eyes a twinkle. "Lethal weapon that is."
"You should know!" she said, trying not to giggle.
He winked at her, and said in a brogue, " Aye, I do I do. Had many practices.
I'm immune to the lethality."
"Lethality?" said Graham.
"Aye, made it up meself," smiled Eric. "Idle word of the day."
Carol and Julia rolled their eyes.
"Tune in next week when he thinks of an even dafter one!" said Mike in
a BBC announcer's voice.
"I'll get the advance screening," smirked Julia. "He tries 'em out on
me first."
Eric snickered.
"Still feeling froggy, eh, Julie?" said TJ.
Julia paused, glancing out of the corner of her eye at Mike. "No," she
said, vision lingering on him for a bit. "All better now."
Mike looked toward Eric to see if he caught the look Jules gave him.
He didn't! HA HA! Bully for you Idle!
Mike shyly smiled at Julia, then Graham said, "Alright then, alright.
You two set now?"
"Yeah, we should be," said Carol. "Kiddo here's back to her goofy self."
"Back to?" joked Julia. "I never left!"
"Mind you, she might slip again 'fore too long," winked Carol.
Julia was drinking some of her soda pop then, started to laugh, then
snorted like a pig.
"See?"
"BOO!" yelped Julia.
"I'll save you darlin'," said Eric in a American cowboy voice, as he
thumped her on the back.
"Thanks," said Julia, in between coughs. " Oh handsome stranger dressed
in a goofy loony frock."
"Shh! You weren't supposed to say! That was our little secret!"
"Cat's outta the bag, innit?" laughed TJ.
Almost on cue, Mike meowed.
