Since the following day was a
Saturday, all the Pythons had a
day to just be regular people, doing regular things. Work could wait
until Monday.
At about eight that morning, the phone
rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Julie!" chirped a voice. "It's me
Carol."
Julia sat up, rubbing at her eyes.
"Who's on the phone?" asked Eric
sleepily.
"Carol," whispered Julia.
"You there?"
"I'm here, Caro, I'm here."
"You still sound like you're half
asleep," she laughed.
"I was."
"Well, I just thought I'd ring to see
if you wanted to hang
out with Connie and me, she's in the mood to go sniffin' around
Harrods."
"Oh?"
"You up for it? Or did Eric wear you
out last night?"
"Y'WHAT?"
"I bet you two were out all night
doing silly things," said
Carol. "Geez, get your feathers all ruffled up."
"Oh.." said Julia, shooting a look to
Eric. "Right."
"You coming then?"
"Yeah, yeah I'll be there," said
Julia. "Sounds like fun."
"GREAT! I'll come round in a couple of
hours, give you a
chance to get your brains back in order."
"Ha ha."
"See you later."
"See you."
Julia hung up the phone.
"What's going on?"
"Carol and Connie are gonna go to
Harrod's, she was seeing if
I wanted to go too."
"Ohh..girl stuff.. I see."
"She asked me if you wore me out last
night too."
"Oh?"
"Aye," smiled Julia.
"I think we both..um..well..were."
She nodded.
"Don't worry, love, Carol is just nosy
like that," said Eric.
Julia smiled again. "They'd get a surprise if they saw us
now though," she said.
Eric laughed. "Right! Be like 'oh bloody hell,
they've gone and done it.' "
Julia laughed too. "If I'm going off with them on their
little recce, what will
you do today?"
"Hmmm..probably go back to sleep for
one."
"OOH! YOU! Make me get up and you..."
"I what?"
"Nothing."
"Keep it that way."
Julia sat up straight, still covering
herself with the
blankets.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"You don't have to be Miss
Bashful-Face now, darling. I've
kinda seen all your stuff ."
Julia flushed red.
And I've seen all his stuff too...crikey..crikey..crikey...Nice
stuff anyroad.
"I'm sorry, I'm just new to...to.."
she said, feeling like an
idiot.
"I didn't mean to slag you, I was just
trying to say you
don't have to be embarrassed."
"Thanks," said Julia. "You either."
"I never was." Eric then made a silly face, which
caused Julia to laugh.
"There, see? Everything's perfectly
fine."
"Right."
She did reach for her dress from the
night before, scooting
it on.
Eric made a sound of protest.
"Hey, look at it this way," said
Julia, gaining a little
confidence. "It's like being a striptease artist."
He raised an eyebrow. "How so?"
"It is, it is. It's just in reverse."
Eric clucked his tongue. "Dearie, dearie me. My girlfriend the
comedian."
"'Sides, you're a comedian too so if
I'm one, it's your
fault."
Eric laughed, throwing a pillow at her. "I'll see you later, love," he
said.
"Behave yourself."
"Always," said Julia, climbing back
onto the bed.
Eric leaned in to kiss her, when he
did, Julia's insides went
gooey.
"Reversed again," he whispered.
