All the Pythons happily basked in the adulation, for they
were all truly proud. They
linked hands and as one, bowed to the audience, who cheered and clapped
as if they were in a football match 'stead of a tv studio.
Eric held tight to Julia's hand, giving it a squeeze, which she
reciprocated, smiling shyly. He smiled back, then she noticed Mike
doing the same with her other hand, and she gave his a squeeze as well.
He beamed at her, and she smiled, scrunching her nose up like a bunny
rabbit.
When the studio was empty once again, Graham looked round, and said;
"Well, what shall we do now then?"
The group looked round at each other.
"I'm fancying going to the pub meself," said John. "Dunno bout the rest
of you."
"I'm going home and going to sleep," said TJ, yawning. "Being a
brilliant genius is very tiring."
Almost as if on cue, Graham yawned. "Guess it's true what they say,
yawning's contagious," he smiled, puffing on his pipe.
"I like TJ's idea," said Carol. "I'm going home to get my beauty sleep
too."
"I'll go to the pub with you, John," said Gilliam.
The only ones who hadn't spoken were Mike, Eric and Julia. There was a
pause, TJ watching Mike, watching to see if he'd make a fool of himself
again.
"Julia and I actually have plans," said Eric.
Julia nodded.
"Oh?" asked John.
"Yeah, we're off, on our own this time, right darling?"
"Right."
"Tough job keepin' ol' Idle in line, Julie," laughed Graham. " You up
to the challenge then?"
Mike felt like he was going to throw up.
"Aye, Gray," said Julia. "I think I can handle him quite well."
"What about you then, Palin?" asked John. "Going to sleep in the studio
then?"
"No," said Mike softly. "I'm not."
TJ watched Mike's expression, how hang dog sad he looked. He also saw
Julia glance Mike's way, a concerned look on her face.
"I think I'm going to the pub with you lot, John. Hope you have room
for a fourth."
