Nowadays Every Night: Chapter 9

"Too late?"

"I have another secret, Gray, promise you'll keep this quiet too."

"I promise."

"Eric asked me to marry him last year..before I left. I said yes then. Now I don't know if I can say yes again."

"Because of Michael?"

"Yeah. It's no one's fault how I feel but my own. I love both guys equally. But I can't HAVE both."

Graham nodded.

"That's the problem. God..Gray I look at both of them and I love them both and I want them both.."

"Stop."

Julia paused, feeling VERY embarrassed.

"I understand completely where you're coming from, Julie. I do."

"What do I do then?"

"Figure out who you REALLY want."

"But I don't know!"

"You'll figure it out," he said cryptically. "Trust me, Julie. I know you. You'll do the right thing."

Graham looked at her intently, a grin spreading across his face.

"You bugger," she said. "You're no help at all."

"Maybe not," he said. "But maybe that was what you really needed to hear."

"Even if it means me sleeping with Michael?"

"Even if."

TJ's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at Julia's last sentence. Michael wouldn't hesitate on that. He's been gone on Julia for as long as I can remember. Eric be damned.

The man in question was about 200 yards away from all of them, his huge Knight of Ni helmet smushed down completely on his head as he spoke to one of the directors, completely oblivious to the drama that was unfolding.

There were two other girls in Mike's life that had been making their presence known, named Dani and Angie, and TJ knew Mike was fond of them, in fact he'd told him so.

He loved their company.

But he still hadn't shaken off the feelings he had for Julia yet.

"I want her TJ," he'd told him once. "Everytime I see her, it gets worse. I've never wanted anybody as much."

"Nothing wrong with that, mate," TJ'd told him. "I wanted her too once, but Allie'd kinda kill me."

Mike frowned.

"I know what you're saying, Palin, honest. That's what I"m trying to get at."

It was at that moment Julia passed them, grinning, the two men returning it.

When she was gone, TJ looked at Mike, who looked heartsick.

"I want her," he'd groaned. "But I can't have her."

And now that TJ'd heard Julia's talk with Graham, he knew he HAD to tell Mike.

TJ also knew he'd be inciting two of his friends to have an affair, whilst possibly hurting others.

But what some people don't know, won't hurt them. Right?

But he still worried.

Not only for Julia and Michael and Eric, but for everyone.

Can't help it. I'm human, aren't I?
